Seale Christian Academy
Our Curriculum
A rigorous, classical, and Christ-centered course of study designed to form students who think clearly, speak persuasively, and live faithfully.
What Shapes Our School & Curriculum
Four commitments run through every grade level and every subject at SCA.
Christian
Education where all areas of study are rooted in God's truth aimed at forming children into adults who glorify God and enjoy Him forever.
Collaborative
An educational model aligned with the biblical directive for parents, emphasizing the church's supportive role in delivering outstanding education, mirroring the principles observed at the inception of our nation.
Classical
Virtuous education for human flourishing with teaching consistent with how the greatest thinkers in human history were educated.
Conservative
Preserving the founding ideals of our nation and the Western Tradition including our Christian heritage and the values of life, liberty, freedom, equality, and justice for all.
Cost-Affordable
The collaborative schooling model gives parents and students everything they need (and nothing they don't) for a price that everyone can afford.
Curriculum by Stage
Our curriculum follows the classical Trivium — three stages that align with the natural development of the child.
Grammar Stage
K4 – 6th GradeLaying the Foundation
In the Grammar stage, children are natural memorizers and absorbers. We capitalize on this by filling their minds with the foundational facts, rules, and stories of every subject — Scripture, Latin roots, math facts, historical timelines, and the laws of nature.
Core Subjects
Bible & Theology
Scripture memory, and Biblical narrative from Genesis to Revelation.
Classical Literature
Fables, myths, fairy tales, and great stories that form the imagination.
History
American History
Mathematics
Mastery of arithmetic facts, fractions, and foundational number sense.
Science
Nature study, earth science, and the wonders of God's creation.
Phonics & Writing
Systematic phonics, copywork, narration, and dictation.
The aim of education is the knowledge not of facts but of values.
— William S. Burroughs
Capstone Experience
The Senior Thesis
Every graduating senior at SCA completes a year-long thesis project — a substantial research paper on a topic of their choosing, grounded in primary sources and defended orally before a faculty panel.
The Senior Thesis is the culmination of twelve years of classical education. It demonstrates that our graduates can not only absorb knowledge, but synthesize it, argue for it, and present it with confidence and grace.
Policy
Seale Christian Academy – Accreditation Policy
Seale Christian Academy does not seek or maintain formal accreditation at this time. This decision reflects SCA's commitment to preserving the integrity of its Christ-centered mission and educational philosophy. All aspects of instruction, curriculum development, and school governance are guided by Biblical principles and the doctrinal standards upheld by the Academy.
Maintaining independence from external accrediting agencies allows Seale Christian Academy to operate in full alignment with our spiritual and educational objectives without being subject to requirements that may not reflect our priorities. While accreditation serves an important function in many educational settings, SCA has determined that such processes may impose standards, financial costs, and administrative obligations that are not consistent with our mission or the best use of our resources.
Seale Christian Academy remains fully committed to providing a high-quality education that promotes both academic excellence and spiritual growth. The school ensures accountability and continuous improvement through internal review, oversight by church leadership, and active partnership with families. This approach supports SCA's goal of equipping students with strong academic foundations and a firm Biblical worldview.
Transcripts, College Admission, and Student Transfers
Seale Christian Academy maintains permanent academic records for all enrolled students and issues official transcripts upon request. These transcripts reflect coursework completed, grades earned, and credits awarded in accordance with our academic standards.
Graduates of Seale Christian Academy may be eligible for admission to colleges, universities, trade schools, and other postsecondary institutions; however, admission requirements vary by institution. Families and students are encouraged to contact prospective institutions directly to confirm specific admissions criteria, including any additional documentation that may be required from a non-accredited school.
For students transferring to or from Seale Christian Academy, acceptance of credits is determined at the discretion of the receiving institution. While SCA endeavors to maintain clear and accurate academic records to facilitate student transitions, it cannot guarantee that all coursework or credits will be accepted by other schools. Families considering transfer are encouraged to communicate with the receiving school in advance to ensure a smooth transition.
